The Travel Budget Sheet is a ready-to-use Excel template for planning and tracking the cost of a business trip, holiday or any other journey. It is suited to business travellers, travel coordinators, small business owners, freelancers and families who want full control over their travel spending. The header holds the trip details: the destination, the departure date and the return date. Each line of the expense table records the day number of the trip, the expense category, the budgeted amount, the actual amount and a short description. The category is chosen from a drop-down list with six options: Flights, Ground Transport, Accommodation, Food & Beverage, Activities and Miscellaneous. Every category is automatically highlighted in its own colour by conditional formatting, so the expense structure can be seen at a glance. The Remaining column is calculated by a formula as the budgeted amount minus the actual amount, and overspending is shown in red as a negative value. The Total row sums the budgeted, actual and remaining amounts for the whole trip with SUM formulas. The sample data covers a three-day city trip that starts on January 1, 2027 and can be overwritten with your own figures. The sheet is set up to print on a single landscape A4 page and keeps the same layout and functions in every colour version.
