The task table on the left holds the project lead, the task name, the budget, the start and end dates, the duration in days and the completion percentage for each line. Four stage rows summarise their task groups automatically: the budget is added up with SUM, the stage start is the earliest task start via MIN, the stage end is the latest task end via MAX and the stage progress is the AVERAGE of its tasks. The DAYS column calculates the calendar length of every task as end date minus start date plus one and shows a dash when a date is missing. The calendar on the right spans 27 weeks in single-day columns and its dates are driven entirely by the project start date, so moving that one cell reschedules the whole chart. The "Select project week" cell scrolls the timeline: entering a week number shifts the first visible column to the Monday of that week of the project. The bars themselves are drawn by conditional formatting rather than by a picture, so they redraw instantly whenever a date or a percentage changes - the strong colour marks the share of the task already completed and the lighter colour marks the remaining duration. A conditional rule also highlights the column that matches today's date, and data bars inside the PROGRESS column give a second visual read of completion. The TOTAL BUDGET cell adds the four stage subtotals together, giving one figure for the whole project. The example schedule starts on 01 January 2027 and runs to late June 2027, and every task, name and date is meant to be overwritten with your own project data.
